About Us

The Silver Chord Choir is the community seniors’ choir in the City of Port Coquitlam. It was started in 1968 as a fun way for seniors who enjoy singing to get together, make music and above all, have fun doing it. Now, fifty-five years later, we have over fifty members, most of whom turn out to regular rehearsals and performances. Our members range from 50 to over 90 years old!

We meet every Monday (except statutory holidays) to practise and twice monthly we go out to various seniors’ care facilities to sing out and share our love of music with them.

We’re a non-auditioned choir; no musical expertise is expected, just a love of singing and a willingness to participate. If you’d like more information, please use our contact form.

You must be a member in good standing of the Wilson Centre (more info here). There’s also a choir membership fee of $20.00 per year, payable in September.
